Metal Work

Susan Fiori spent endless hours as a child cutting out paper dolls but never playing with them.  In subsequent years any medium that had a component of cutting attracted her.  She began her art career as a serigraph printmaker,  hand cutting all stencils, sometimes as many as fifty for one print.  Later, in art school, she discovered metal cutting as a means of making narrative boxes.  Using a jewelers saw, she cuts metal into intricate shapes and patterns, reflecting her love of folklore, spirituality, dreams and meditations.
